This is a plain-language starting template, not legal advice. Have it reviewed by a qualified attorney before relying on it for your business.
This policy explains what Rave (“we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, and your choices. It covers both account holders and people who submit a video through a Rave link (“contributors”).
1. What we collect
Account info: your name, email, organization, and (optionally) a headshot, logo, and brand colors.
Payment info: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — only your plan status and a Stripe customer reference.
Contributor submissions: the video you record, plus the name, email, and (optional) phone you provide, and your consent to use it.
Technical & support data: basic device/usage information, and — if you report a problem — your message and an optional screenshot.
2. How we use it
To provide the service: create accounts, collect and review videos, compile and host reels, process payments, send transactional and invite emails, answer support requests, and keep the service secure and working.
3. Videos & contributor data
When a business collects videos through Rave, that business decides why and how those videos are used — it is the “controller” of that data, and Rave acts as its processor. Contributors are shown a consent notice before submitting. If you’re a contributor and want your video removed, contact the business that invited you, or email us at
rene@meetrene.com and we’ll help.
4. Children’s privacy
Rave is not directed to children, and account holders must be adults. Videos may sometimes feature minors (for example, a child in a birthday message). The business collecting videos is responsible for obtaining verifiable consent from a parent or guardian before collecting or sharing a minor’s video. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children without that consent; if you believe we have, contact us and we’ll delete it.
5. Who we share data with (subprocessors)
We don’t sell your data. We share it only with the vendors that run the service: Supabase (database, storage, authentication), Vercel (hosting), Shotstack (video rendering), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), and Anthropic (the AI that powers our support assistant and bug triage). Each processes data only to provide its part of the service.
6. Retention & deletion
We keep data while your account is active. You can delete your account, showcases, or individual videos at any time, and contributors can request removal as described above. Deleting an account removes its associated content; some records may persist briefly in backups or where required for legal/accounting reasons.
7. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and the service working. We don’t use advertising cookies.
8. Security
We protect data with encryption in transit, scoped access controls, and private storage for raw video. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to respond quickly to issues.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g., GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email
rene@meetrene.com. Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries.
10. Changes & contact
We’ll post updates here with a new date. For any privacy question, email
rene@meetrene.com.
